ELA technology standards are suggestions made by the State of Florida. The purpose is to make up instructions and advisement for teachers and how to use technology relating to their grade. The document that is given has media ideas and different ways to use information, often technology. In the module, there are different ways to develop the class and build on technological skills.  CPALMS is an educational tool for teachers. It is used to share certain lessons and environments that teachers can use to educate their kids. I have an interest in high school social studies and I found some great things. The database has lessons and other information that teachers can use. Specifically, timelines are all over the social sciences page on CPALMS. I would find specific material that can be relatable to my class.  Internet searching can help students learn and narrow down questions and concerns. To be a good Internet searcher as a teacher, it helps you display knowledge of infor...

Copyright is a series of laws that put restrictions on the use of one's product. Fair use is when you use copyright correctly by citing and commenting using the work in the ways allowed by the author. Being a teacher I would prefer to use my own ideas and imaging to avoid problems. When taken the correct approach by students with proper citations, you can have great work done within the guidelines. I would hope that kids took the proper steps to do such things. I have learned about different websites that provide basic images to use for my instructions.      The implementation of technology has been rather difficult with the switch to online learning. I see with future classrooms with more of a focus on online learning. As a teacher, we need to start for that time to come. To combat the problem of decreased productivity, I would add participation and extra credit incentives. There needs to be a reward for work. Kids and I do at times feel like my work does not go to...

Being a Sophomore at FSU, I have now used Microsoft Word consistently for over a year now. My experience with using Google Docs dates back to me using for all of High School. The biggest difference is that Google Docs is very fluid between devices. Since Google Docs is a website it can be easily transferred between devices by using the internet.  Microsoft Word does not do that but instead saves the computer's hardware. Multiple people can work on documents with Docs, Word does not do that. I prefer Google Docs for the fluidity.  There are seven different ITSE Standards for Educators. The standards explain different ways to cater to students by varying ways of educating. I think the Designer educator is the most important one to me. Looking at now and how all of these online learning classes, there needs to be the ability to adapt and design different teaching methods.  I do agree with the label "digital native". A "digital native" is someone who has grown up a...

An Introduction to EME 2040

Hello for whoever is interested, I am JP Gutierrez III. I am now a Sophmore at Florida State, majoring in Social Sciences in Education. My reason for getting this degree is to teach at my alma mater in Miami. The reason for me taking this class was to create a basis for how to teach online learning if needed. My goal is to teach History and coach Football. This degree path puts me on the best track to do so. I worked this summer as a swim intructor. I am now going to an Assistant Manager at my swim program. I like teaching kids how to swim is the most fufilling thing I have ever experienced.      My prior experiences with technology date back with High School. The majority of my High School work submissions were online. We learned using Ipads and Google classroom. I think that preparation has helped me realize how to do work online. The transition between using Google Classroom and then to Microsoft Office at FSU has been pretty seemlesss. I real...
