Blog Journal #2

Being a Sophomore at FSU, I have now used Microsoft Word consistently for over a year now. My experience with using Google Docs dates back to me using for all of High School. The biggest difference is that Google Docs is very fluid between devices. Since Google Docs is a website it can be easily transferred between devices by using the internet.  Microsoft Word does not do that but instead saves the computer's hardware. Multiple people can work on documents with Docs, Word does not do that. I prefer Google Docs for the fluidity.

There are seven different ITSE Standards for Educators. The standards explain different ways to cater to students by varying ways of educating. I think the Designer educator is the most important one to me. Looking at now and how all of these online learning classes, there needs to be the ability to adapt and design different teaching methods.

I do agree with the label "digital native". A "digital native" is someone who has grown up around and with technology. I feel like it was quite often that at the beginning of my education where Smart Boards were used, the students would help the teacher learn how to use the device. Teaching technology helps link the classroom together by the programs used like google drive. The difference between future students and me is that they will be better equipt to online learn because of the pandemic.
